Rainbow Moonstone is a variety of Labradorite, and its properties are slightly different from those of Moonstone.
Both varieties are composed of feldspar minerals which, when they cooled down originally, gave rise to the phenomenon of adularescence. This term describes the light that seems to oscillate across the gem’s surface, giving it a truly magical appearance. Rainbow Moonstone is the name given to Madagascan Labradorite.
